BADC Query system

In order to improve the service to our users we have introduced new query handling software at the BADC.

After submitting a query to badc@rl.ac.uk you will notice that the subject of the reply will contain an ENTRY number. This is your query reference number. If you use 'reply' to respond to this message then the ENTRY number in the subject allows us to automatically identify any previous messages you have sent related to this query. The message will also include a complete history of all exchanges made between you and the BADC in regard to this query, with the most recent entry at the top.

Please help us to operate this system efficiently by doing the following:

Use 'reply' when responding to e-mails from the BADC regarding your query. This ensures that the ENTRY reference number will be passed back to us in the subject line.
When replying, please make sure that your reply goes ABOVE any quoted text from the message you are replying to. This prevents our system from getting cluttered with multiple copies of messages. If you reply below the quoted text then your message may be lost.
When you have a new question that you want to ask, please make sure that your message subject line does not include an ENTRY number (this will happen if you reply to a message from a previous query). This allows us to start a new query for you.
