Introduction
The
Assimilation of
Remote-sensed Data for Applications in the Atmospheric and Oceanographic
Sciences (ARDAAOS) Programme is a
NERC thematic research
programme
directed at developing and promoting the expertise of the UK scientific
community in the area of assimilation techniques applied to remote-sensed
atmospheric and oceanographic data.
The programme started in 1998 and ended in 2003.
Access to data and software
Data and software supplied to the BADC by some of the projects are stored in the
BADC ARDAAOS
archive.
To protect the investigators' right to validate and publish their results,
access to the archive was restricted to the participants to the corresponding
project for one year following the project end date.

The Cambridge Chemical Assimilation Data has a special status insofar as
it is public but
its access is subject to the signature of the Met Office agreement
(see Cambridge Chemical Assimilation Data Web page).
Data, software and metadata submission
The Steering Committee of the ARDAAOS Programme has made it a requirement that data
from any particular project would be submitted to its designated data centre at the
latest within the last three months of the project.

The BADC provides a list of the projects funded
under the programme, with their principal investigators, data set status and
links to relevant information.
