What is GIF ?



The Graphics Interchange Format, or GIF, is a format for compression of graphic files originally developed by CompuServe, now virtually a standard for 256 color images. One of two image formats with a number of browsers capable of displaying them as in-line images. CompuServe's Graphics Interchange Format uses 8-bit color.

To View the GIF images via WWW browser just simply select an image file from the directory listing and double click the left mouse button. The image will appear on a new page or an external viewer.
