The ECMWF ERA Re-analysis Project (ERA-15, ERA-40 and ERA-Interim)

Introduction

The BADC archives data from European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) Project. This includes the initial ERA-15, the ERA-40 Re-analyses and the latest ERA-Interim Re-analyses. Until 2004, these were presented under separate licenses and were therefore partitioned into separate datasets.

The BADC now presents both the earlier datasets and the latest ERA-Interum dataset under one Conditions of Use agreement so any user applying for any of the ERA datasets will automatically gain access to the other two. Since the infrastructure has been built to treat the three projects as separate datasets they will remain so in the BADC catalogue but access restrictions are dealt with as if only one dataset exists.
