Conditions of use for EUFAR Data
Access to most data within the EUFAR archive will publicly available upon application.
At the request of the EUFAR coordinator or the relevant aircraft operator data this restriction may be shortened or lifted for specific flights.
Any raw data stored in the EUFAR archive to facilitate the rapid exchange of data within the community for a specific event
- for example the Eyjafjallajokull Volcanic Eruption - may remain restricted to the EUFAR community longterm.
The following conditions will apply to the use of all EUFAR data :
- In all cases where the data are used in a presentation or publication co-authorship must be offered to
original data provider and (if different) the PI of the project it was collected for. It is for the original data provider and the PI to decide whether this is accepted or if an alternative
form of acknowledgement is appropriate.
- In all cases where EUFAR funded data are used in a presentation or publication, the EUFAR project should be acknowledged.
- For expediency, raw Volcanic-related data may have been supplied in a working format.
- Reprocessed and revised data may be submitted after the original data submission. Users should consult the data provider to ensure that the latest available version of the data is used
in publications.
- Your use of information provided by NERC is at your own risk. Please read any warnings given about the limitations of the information.
Please note, as a registered BADC user you have also agreed to the general BADC conditions of use
- Information submitted in application for access to the data will be made available to the EUFAR Office and to the Natural
Environment Research Council (NERC) and its delegated authorities, i.e. the NERC Earth Observation Data
Centre and the British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC) and their host organisation, the Science and
Technology Facilities Council (STFC) for the purposes of tracking data usage and of improving the service.
