Contents of Solar Variability workspace

The workspace has been set up to have the following contents. Other items and folders may have been added by registered users. Any links given are shortcuts to the public view of the appropriate section of the workspace. You can access all of this information from within the workspace. You can only make additions and modifications to the workspace if you logon as a registered user (see above).

Conference and meeting announcements

This page contains information about forthcoming conferences and meetings. Registered users are encouraged to make additions.

List of registered users

Only available to registered users. Can also be accessed by clicking on the symbol in the workspace. You can use this list to send e-mails to one or more users. You can also import the details of selected users into your personal BSCW address book.

Links

This folder can be used to store details of relevant links. Users can add any appropriate links to this folder. If necessary sub-folders can be created to help organise the links.

Papers and posters

This folder can be used to store papers, posters and other relevant documents. These can be stored in any format (text, Word, PDF etc). To upload a new file use the 'Add doc' button at the top of the page. To update an existing file, you should download the original file (if necessary), edit it on your local computer and then use the 'Replace' link below the file to replace it with the new version. Text files are the exception to this: they can be edited directly using your browser (use the 'Edit' link below the file). The BSCW system also has a version control system that can be used for documents. For details see the BSCW help.

Meeting reports

This folder is intended to store minutes or reports from meetings or conferences. These can either be stored as documents which are uploaded, or as a link to another web site if that is more appropriate (note that BSCW also gives you the option to upload the html from a link and store it in the workspace).

Discussions

This folder holds a series of discussion topics. Users are encouraged to submit notes to these discussions and to create new discussion topics. The discussions consist of notes in plain text. If you want to upload any other files to support the discussion then it is suggested that you create a folder with the same name as the discussion and put the files in there.
