MLS Version 4 data
==================

MLS version 4 data is now available. This data set replaces the old version 
3 data. Note that there is a change in the file format. 

Version 4 data is stored in Unix IEEE binary files, whereas the version 3 data  
was held in compressed ASCII files.

Software to read the new data files, written at the Goddard DAAC (in C and 
FORTRAN) is available from our MLS software directory. 

The IDL software provided by Dr H. Pumphrey at the University of Edinburgh 
will also work with the new data.
