News from Ken McDonald at Goddard: Dear Colleagues, I am pleased to announce the availability of the EOSDIS Version 0 Information Management System (IMS) World-Wide-Web Gateway. This gateway has been developed to give Web users access to the system-wide data search and order services developed and provided by the EOSDIS Project and the nine Version 0 Distributed Active Archive Centers (DAACs). The URL for the Gateway is: http://eos.nasa.gov/imswelcome The current release provides access to a subset of the IMS capabilities and has been made available for your review and comment. The services include data set directory search, concurrent search of the DAAC inventories, data browse, selection for order and a number of options for results presentation. In this release the actual placement of a data order will require that you contact the DAAC that holds the data. An on-line comments function allows you to convey your feedback to the development team. Functions that provide access to additional services are under development and will become available through this gateway as they are completed. By October 31st, the on-line product order function and access to data set guide documentation will be added to the gateway. Future plans also include additional data search attributes and access to services provided by archives in Europe, Japan and Canada that have installed Version 0 IMS software. Ken McDonald
