NCAS UM Ancillary file Service

Introduction

The NCAS Ancillary File Service has been upgraded to use the latest version of the the Met Office Central Ancillary Program (vn6.6) and the latest source data files. The service has moved from the BADC to being hosted hosted by NCAS-CMS with file access through PUMA; consequently, in order to use the service you will need to be a registered PUMA user.

Tools for generating rotated grids:
- BADC grid tools for choosing rotated grids on your own limited area domain (LAM)
- LAMPOS: A graphical tool for positioning and defining your own limited area domain (LAM)

Note: The above two tools provide similar but not identical functionality. LAMPOS allows for graphical selection of the domain. The BADC rotated grid tools require numerical input, but also allow you to specify a grid with a specified centre and with grid north offset from true north (example).
